Founded four decades ago, SFRC is a non-profit corporation, currently licensed as a level II facility by the State of California and is regulated by the Department of Social Services and Community Care Licensing. In addition, the Department of Development Services contracts with Valley Mountain Regional Center (VMRC), which requires SFRC to meet stringent guidelines. An administrator and house manager are responsible for supervision of all functions. A minimum of two staff are on the premises 24/7 to assist the residents and help to create a nurturing environment in a homey, friendly atmosphere.
